Texas Oak Bourbon is where American whiskey aging tradition meets the Texas-grown oak future and never looks back.
As long as American whiskey has been aged, the oak and barrels have come from the same forests and the same cooperages, and nobody questioned it. But we've never been satisfied with how things are done. We're Texans, and we can't leave a good question alone. So we asked a different one. What if the oak had Texas roots too? That question took us somewhere no whiskey maker had gone. We worked with Standard Cooperage in Blanco, Texas, to build toasted barrels from Texas-grown white oak. Then we filled them with mature 8-year-old bourbon so the Texas wood could give it a finished Texas attitude. Texas Oak Bourbon, the first of its kind, was designed to linger: delicate at first, generous at the center, unforgettable at the finish. Expect a baked-apple-driven core with flavors of deep gingerbread, velvet almond butter, and sweetened dried fruit. A whiskey like this doesn't happen by following the rules. It happens when you carve your own path and thumb your nose at convention.
