Discover Kooper Family Sherry Finished Bourbon, an 8-year-old, small-batch bourbon elevated by a luxurious sherry cask finish that layers rich fruit and dessert tones onto a classic American whiskey backbone. We start with a carefully selected straight bourbon whiskey, aged eight years and chosen for its balance of caramel, vanilla, and baking spice. It’s then rested in seasoned sherry casks, where it slowly picks up deep notes of dried fruit, toasted nuts, and soft oak. The result is a silky, full-flavored bourbon that bridges the gap between traditional bourbon lovers and sherry-finished whisky fans.

Blender Notes

For this whiskey, the work happens in two distinct chapters. First, we assemble a base bourbon blend that feels complete on its own, with enough structure to withstand a secondary cask without losing itself. Only then is it moved into seasoned sherry casks, which we monitor closely through regular pulls rather than a preset calendar. Once the finishing starts to shape the whiskey instead of just sitting on top of it, we return the blend to stainless, let it rest, and then proof in small increments to lock in the integration.
